Popelympics, The Holy Trinity & Senior Sendoff!

I'm throwing 3 updates into one! Crazy, I know. A lot has been going on so much so that updating has been put off far too long.

Popelympics - Celebrating the changing of the guard so to speak. With a new pope, Pope Benedict XVI (or B16 as I will refer to him), a night of games were in order. With fun and friendly competition everyone got to participate in games as varied as the Miter Run and Pimp-My-Popemobile. Unfortunately, both Cassi and I were away at a wedding during these festivities, but we heard how much fun it was (minus the eggs).

The Holy Trinity - Patrick gave us some insight on how to get a better grasp on the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. Being the english graduate he is he gave us the analogy of the Author of Life(the Father) creates his book(all of creation) using His Pen(the Holy Spirit) and writes Himself into it as a Character(the Son) to help set the story straight. Very cool way to understand the Trinity.

A mixture of sadness and joyfulness fills all of us to say goodbye to our wonderful seniors who will be graduating in the next few weeks to go on beyond high school to their future. We've had the greatest pleasure in watching them over the past four years grow and mature into the adults they are becoming. Our prayers go with them so that they may remain strong in their faith and true to what being Catholic really is. Don't forget us and all that you've learned!

Keep an eye on this blog, because this isn't the end. This summer has a lot in store for us as we get ready for Catholic Heart Workcamp in June followed by a Peer Minister camping trip, a multi-youth group whitewater trip and of course SPLASH! We'll also be doing all sorts of activities after Teen Mass on sundays as well(bowling, dinners, movies, maybe even Q-zar!).

I'm going to start opening the blog up to Peer Ministers who have an interest in writing or journalism so everyone doesn't have to read my own poor attempts. Those who may be interested let me know and I'll start giving you writing assignments.
