Schedule Changes!

Hey teens!

There is a mis-print in the Lifeteen Schedule! We DO have Lifenite this Sunday September, 25th and we will NOT have Lifenite on October 2nd due to the ministry fair. I'm sorry for the mistake!

This Sunday we have a great night prepared on Prayer! We'll be taking a look at what prayer is and all its different forms. Before you get too serious, I will warn you to be prepared for lots of laughs as this evening will be brought to you in a "different form" :)

Have a great rest of the week and I'll see you this Sunday!

Peace,
Cassi

Lifenite - Lemons into Lemonade

We not only learned that lemons are a billion dollar industry, but we learned that our vocation whether it's holy orders, the single life or marriage starts now. Serving God in whatever way we're called is not something that starts off in the distant future, but right here and right now. Though we may not know exactly where our ultimate calling might be at this very moment we do know that whatever we do and whatever decisions we make affect how well we serve in our future calling.

Lifenite - Kick-Off 2005!!!

Success!

Sunday night's Lifenite exceeded our expectations in both the quality and quantity of teens that attended. Originally expecting between 185-200 teens, we were surprised with the 250 that swelled the PLC near capacity.

We started off with pizza and girl scout cookies (yummy Tagalongs!). Future nights will vary in edibles from Jr's BBQ to chicken nuggets all served with a smile by volunteers (parents if you're interested contact Cassi). Being an introduction and kickoff for this new year we showed a pump-up video, prayed for all those in need, and then introduced the peer ministers who will be helping all year with planning, leading small groups and setting a Christ-like example for everyone else. The rules for the year were laid down so everyone knows what's expected of them (No PURPLE!) and then we all broke out into the small groups we'll be in for the rest of the year. The night ended in prayer before sending everyone out.

Forgive the crummy quality these are taken with my phone. Posted by Picasa

Incredible turnout - somewhere around 250 teens!!! Posted by Picasa

Reminder for all parents of teens going through confirmation this year - meeting next Sunday at 3:30pm!

God Bless!!!

Relief for Hurricane Victims

Hurricane Katrina has brought about such destruction that this is being declared one of the greatest natural disasters of all time to hit the United States. It is difficult to watch the news and see the loss of lives, homes, schools, Churches - the loss of entire cities.

St. Benedict Church is currently accepting donations of personal and hygiene products, back-packs, school supplies, Grocery cards and money to help all those who were affected by Katrina's impact. Checks can be made out to St. Benedict Church. All items and money will be donated directly to relief ministries throughout the area to immediately help those who are without. Please label any items or donations you drop off and leave them in or right outside the youth ministry office or the front office.

Thank you for your help.

Peace,
Cassi
