Lifenite - SERVICE "Loving your neighbor!"

Following the wonderful message of the Gospel for this past Sunday we learned why and how we can love our neighbors in our Lifenite.

I loved the metaphor of the Dead Sea and our faith. Think of our faith like a sea. A sea that has an inlet and an outlet. Love and grace flow into and out of our faith like water into and out of a sea. The outlet of our faith is our love for others and everything we do to show that love. If we dam that outlet so our water doesn't flow out then it dies. The Dead Sea has no outlet so the water in it can only evaporate leaving behind a faith that cannot sustain life. So we learn that our faith must flow out of us to all those around us. Pretty cool when you think about it.

Some good service opportunities are:
- This Friday (Oct. 28th @ 5pm) helping with the Edge Halloween Party for middle school teens
- Bring old coats this next Sunday at Lifenite for those in need this winter
- Weds Nov. 9th at 6pm making sandwiches for a soup kitchen in the PLC

Thank you PM's for all that you do! Keep it up!
Huge thanks go to Laura Brown for giving us a first hand view of the destruction of Katrina and her work in the relief efforts!

God Bless Everyone!!!

What an amazing retreat! I think everyone had a great time learning about their faith, how to defeat sin and succeed in being with Christ in heaven!

I've posted some pictures for those who weren't able to join us and for those that did go and want to re-live all the fun we had.

Fall Retreat Pack List

It’s finally here! Our Lifeteen Fall Retreat! I hope that you’re getting all geared up and excited for this weekend. The Core Team and I are pumped up to take off with you for Covecrest Retreat Center, and to spend the weekend in fun, prayer, and community. Listed below are a few last details that need attention before we head out on Friday.

What do I pack?
- Sleeping bag, pillow, and a sheet/blanket if you would like. (There will be beds, but they have no linens)
- Casual clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Pack layers as it gets cool at night in the mountains.
- Towel
- Toiletries and personal items
- Flash light
- Snacks (please keep all food closed while in the cabins – we don’t want unwelcome creatures crawling through our sleeping quarters!)
- Bible and Catechism of the Catholic Church if you have one (a journal is recommended as well)
- A good attitude and open heart!

What time do I arrive on Friday?
Please be at St. Benedict’s between 5:00 and 5:30pm. We will be checking in and eating pizza for dinner. The bus will leave at 6:00pm SHARP!

When will we return?
We will be returning to St. Benedict’s on Sunday at 3pm. Please plan on staying or coming back for the Teen Mass. There will be no Lifenite after Mass.

How can my parents contact Cassi or me in case of emergency?
Covecrest Retreat Center – 706-782-5961
Cassi Villanueva *cell – 770-833-1818
Kindly reserve calls for emergency matters only.

In the midst of packing and trying to get everything finished before retreating for the weekend, please be sure to keep our retreat and everyone attending in your prayers. It’s going to be an incredible weekend! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns at 678-992-2514 or cassi@stbenedict.net.

We're going to have a great time going Undercover for Christ as CIA agents!

I also want to thank the teens who were able to help man the table for the ministry fair this past weekend.

GOD BLESS!!!
