CATHOLIC YOUTH DAY at SIX FLAGS

Can you feel the excitement? Superman flying you through the air, the Mine Train jolting you in and out of your seats, the gurgly feeling your stomach gets just as you come down the first hill of the Scream Machine ... and all of this with other Catholic teens from around the Atlanta area?!?!?!?!

For only $40 you get a day at Six Flags, plus a free lunch buffet, and a free return pass for another day of rides! We're meeting at the Church at 9am on Sunday May 7th and will return in time for Teen Mass. We're also in need of adult drivers, so if you have a parent who can help out - let us know!

Permission forms are located in the admin. hallway at Church, or you can just download from this site. For more info, just give me a buzz - 678-992-2514 or sent an email to cassi@stbenedict.net.

Godspace

If God had a "Myspace" what would it look like? What kind of music and streaming video would be playing? Who would be in His top 8? What do you think his survey answers would say?

Now, about YOUR "Myspace".... are you using the internet wisely? Are you careful about the personal information you give out? Do you even know how to be SAFE when online? Do the things you post on your site reflect the person you want to be ... or appear to be?

Come join us this Sunday, April 30th as we surf Godspace ... it's bound to be an interesting evening. We invite all teens to bring any magazines or articles you've read about the internet that may pertain to this Lifenite!

STAND UP FOR KIDS

For those of you heading downtown with us to stand up for homeless teens, we're meeting at the Church at NOON on Sunday, stopping for lunch on the way (so bring money) and we will return to the Church in time for set-up and Teen Mass. You must have a permission form to join us!

See you on Sunday,
Cassi

Confirmation 2006!!!

Congratulations newly confirmed!!! Our Archbishop Wilton Gregory joined us this past Tuesday night and annointed the forehead of each of you with the holy chrism that signifies Confirmation. You have received even more graces with this sacrament. Now you all have a much stronger responsibility to your faith. Your mission on earth is clear - to know God, to love God and to serve God so you can be with Him for all eternity in heaven.

Confirmation is not the end, but the beginning!

Cassi and I took many many pictures. So many in fact that I have separated them into two albums. To view them click on the links below.
Confirmation 2006 - Part 1
Confirmation 2006 - Part 2

Thanks go out to all of the priests (especially our Archbishop!), catechists, sponsors, parents, musicians and to our youth director Cassi for everything that they had to sacrifice for this joyous day.

God Bless!
Eric

Good Friday - Passion Play!

I'm going back a few days to pre-Easter where we gathered together to remember and reenact the sacrifice our Lord Jesus made for all of us during His passion. Leading up to this past Good Friday where we remember His death on a cross a lot of planning and practicing went into the Passion Play the teens put on for the parish. To view pictures of some of the pre-planning (with some goofing off as teens are prone to do) and of the actual performance [Click Here].

Many thanks go out to all of the teens who participated, to all of our wonderful priests and to Cassi who organized and directed everything.

God Bless

Eric

Homeless Teens, The Passion Play, & Confirmation

Did you know that 13 teens die on the streets every day? That these teens are out there surviving only by stealing, begging, selling drugs or by prostituting. The reasons they are there usually mean that where they came from was worse than living on the street. StandUp for Kids is an organization created to help homeless and street kids by actually going out finding them and ministering to their needs.

Becca Orchard came to this past Sunday to open our eyes to this very real problem and has given us a chance to take an active role in living out our responsibilities as followers of Christ.

Diana, Brian, Kitty and Tim put faces to the homeless teens. They told the actual stories of what happened to them and why they are out there fighting every day for their lives. If you are interested in helping out in any way please contact Cassi. You can also visit the StandUp for Kids website and check out the different ways you can contribute (http://www.standupforkids.org/).

Here's a little video from the lifenite playing musical chairs.

What is this Friday? That's right it's Good Friday!!! Come Friday night at 7pm to watch the Passion acted out by some of your very own. Remember the death that brought us all life.

This weekend is Easter so there is not a Lifenite on Sunday. Everyone have a wonderful time spending it with your families.

Confirmation is next Tuesday April 18th at 7:30pm. That is the time it will actually start not the time you need to show up there if you're being confirmed. We invite everyone to come meet the Archbishop and support all those confirming their Catholic faith.

Have a wonderful week!
God Bless
Eric
